Product Description:

Precision Motive's Cogging Test System

Precision Motive’s Cogging Test System is an exceptional standalone test system meticulously designed to control and measure Detent Torque, Cogging Torque, and Friction Torque. The exclusive design of our system includes a precision geared motor and a JT Series Torque Sensor that integrates a 5 000 pulses encoder.

Furthermore, our range of JT101 to JT303 systems has security clutches built-in to help avoid system overloads due to any mishandling when the system is not in use. Our geared motor drives the Motor Under Test (MUT) at a low speed from 1 to 10 rpm. Other speeds are also available as an option. Additionally, we acquire the cogging torque of the MUT related to angle position.

Our torque measurement can cover a range up to 2 N∙m, depending on the selected torque sensor. The accuracy of our system is ± 0.1 mN∙m, (for JT 101 - 10 mN∙m and JT 303 - 3000 mN∙m). Our executable software controls the system and displays the acquired data.

Our software system provides an accurate peak-to-peak measurement of cogging torque and X-Y or polar graphs with FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) analysis. Additionally, the software provides the storage of measured data and allows five graphs to be overlaid for comparison of performance data. Our software system also comes with the capability of using a cursor to read accurate values from measurement points.

Lastly, our measured parameters can be saved as a text file TXT. For better accuracy and function control, our software includes a zero offset adjustment routine that checks transducer signals over a complete turn. Please note that this test sample MUT must not be connected to the system.
